1987 GT Pro Freestyle Tour (Friday fun purchase!)
« on: February 19, 2016, 10:26 PM »
Took a chance buying a bike 300miles away based on a blurry photo.

Figured it was an early 90's GT of some form, but for money it was worth the risk. Id be in the area over Easter (my in-laws live an hour away from the bike) so asked the seller if I paid up front I'd collect later. (Another risk)

Seller said no probs, and would keep the bike for me... Payment sent this morning...

Got my father-in-law to go pick it up, since I didn't fancy it lying there to Easter.

Turned out to have some decent parts on it.

A citric bath for the 401s should be ok.

The hutch stem will need a lot more work. :(

The seat, seat post were modern and rusty so I binned them, tyres were modern and dry.

Broke the bike down to see the extent of the rust.

Redline 401s

GT Seat Clamp

DC Tech 7s

Hutch Western Stem

DC Nippon and 990

Gyro cables rotted away
