I keep looking at this. I know I have already said it but it is so so nice. What a build. :coolsmiley: Just like candy.  "wantit"

Well done.   :4_17_5:

Cheers,

Worst part at the moment is the brake cables.... Can't remember where I put the damn things!

Found them...

But what a right arse of a job it is to route them! Managed to fish them out in the end with a small Allen key.

And also got the seat post in... Tight fit :-)

It's so nice to follow this thread and see this lovely bike growing.  :daumenhoch: Great work Alan!

Nice to hear, always fun to document the builds... Although progress has been a bit slow due to the demands of a 1 and 3 year old lol

Maybe you don't get it finished fast then, but excellently for sure. :daumenhoch:

Made some plastic washers to save the dropouts, till its ride time, don't fancy trashing the powder before the. :-)

On a plus side I might have sourced an 87 seat!

The other thing I have for this build as an option is a set of matching Space Developments bar.

Had Del make up a set of decals made in the 87 GT colours.

I am.... Hence the long drawn out, boring, pic heavy thread :-)

I wouldn't say it's drawn out as this is the type of stuff we like to see, especially with what you started with

Had a bit of an idea tonight to make the build a bit less standard and lined up a few blue bits to get a feel what it would be like.

The colour scheme also has a bit of a historical meaning to me also...

The blue works surprisingly well! Top pic too! Love to see a pic with the Space bars!  :daumenhoch:

I think I'll try with the blue tyres and white grips and seat... unsure about the blue seat.

I'll stick the blue grips on the Space bars to test the colour combo.

And colour combos... Probably pink/white for show and Pink/White/blue tyres for go.

For Show: White parts

For go: White parts, blue tyres

Don't know: All Blue (especially the seat) is a bit much

The all white parts-version looks fantastic! I always wished to have one like this. But the all blue parts-version with the space bars is something unexpected.... which I really like! :daumenhoch:

Nearing completion, still the brakes to finish up, but the sun came to for a few minutes so got a chance for a photo outside.

Managed to find a white and a blue 87 seat in decent condition so that means I've got the complete 87 spec in white and in blue for it. Just now it's now sportin' the blue bits.

Still the brakes to sort out but have all the parts now at least.

White GT brake pads

Also picked up a blue GT chainring, haven't tried it yet as I'm liking the white one too much

Now the BOTM is over and I hang my head in shame, a little disaster occured...

Whilst hanging up the bike I fell off the ladder along with the bike.

I land on the concrete floor narrow miss impaling myself and the bike lands on to the work bench vice!  explosion

My intention was to hang it like this...

Bike lands on the corner of the vice, nice mix of decals and paint on the corner of the vice.

Damage Control

Hard to see how bad without removing the powder, so I did:

Thanks fully most was such powder dmage, but there was one ding  "nono"

Considering how it fell and what it hit, it (and me) could have been in alot worse shape.

So Sawzall to the rescue!

and some fresh powder:

and decals:

So the build begins... again  :uglystupid2:
