BADBMX Winter Series 2006/7
« on: September 06, 2006, 07:59 PM »
OK guys & gals, after recent committee meeting we have a race series lined up through the winter months.  Seven dates with your best FIVE results counting towards the overall placings.  Because we could lose meetings due to the weather please keep an eye on this thread for updates.  The racing will be along the lines of the Thursday night meetings with the accent on FUN rather than out and out competition but you know you want to win so you'll be riding flat out anyway!!

Race Dates are:
Saturday 23rd September
Saturday 21st October
Saturday 18th November
Saturday 16th December
Saturday 20th January
Saturday 17th February
Saturday 17th March

Race Registration : 13:00 - 13:30
Racing from 14:00hrs

Race Classes:  (four classes only)
7 and Under
8 - 10 year olds
11 - 14 year olds
15 +

RACE AGE TO BE BASED ON YOUR AGE IN 2007, ie. if your birthday is 23rd June and you are currently 10 then your RACE AGE for the Series is 11.
Race Fees are: Members £1 and non-members £2

Trophies will be awarded to top three in each class based on points from BEST FIVE ROUNDS.  Medallions to all riders completing FIVE rounds.
One "Rider of the Day" trophy to be handed out at each round to the rider, who in the opinion of the judges has out in the best effort during the meeting, not necessarily the person who wins races.

Any questions??    Or have I covered everything!!

Oooh this sounds good. Daggers is a proper track. Dont worry about an old gits class just get ya arse down there, plenty of oldies already go and normally have enough for a couple of gates.

I'd love to run a proper old school race every month.

As long as we get enough interest it's a definite goer! (Looks like we have enough already! yeehaw!)

Get out your old metal - give it a polish - then a thorough thrashing!

You know you wanna!

You lot are soooooo sad for (a) wanting to get your venerable old steeds dirty and (b) wanting to destroy yourselves physically!!  Maybe I'll give you all a sporting chance of glory by kitting up and riding the Hawk to make the numbers up - has to be done!!   :D Humps

Kevin, it would be nice to have a full gate of eight but I'm leaving that side of things to one of our OS crusties on the committee.  It will be great to have loadsa RAD folks there battling it out on our super track and remember these meetings are just for fun so we don't want any berm-warfare (it's not Hersden you know).

From responses here it would seem we could have quite a few riders but I know what you lot are like with your excuses, gardening, decorating, working, etc. so getting you all there on the same Saturday is the real difficulty!!  Humps

I would say as long as we manage 4 OS rides then well run you a seperate gate. Any less than 4 then you'll be in the 15+ class.

But as Alan says these are Fun club meetings, not mega competative!!
