I have an original Burner frame that i was going to rebuild back to standard but instead i'm going to build it as an Extra burner with decent parts on it. That'll look a bit odd won't it. :LolLolLolLol:

Where's the best place to go to get the frame painted in Extra Burner colours.

The Blue One is not a 'real' Mk2 Cromo... Its just a Chrome Raleigh Full Cromo frame stickered up as a Cromo... though it won't be like this for long..  ;)

Proper Cromo Burners were built on a Koisumi Frame... hence the nice welds, proper geometry and lack of weight...  8)

What a great collection. Such a shame as I had a Mk 1 Burner which was ripe for restoration, and sold it only a couple of months ago. Do you want one if I come across another fella?

cool burners mate.

i'm glad this topic has come up.  Came across a thread promoting your Burner Bash last night, and noticed a few people slating it.  I wanted to reply, but it was a very old thread and thought best let sleeping dogs lie etc etc.

My two pence worth is that the Burners are as much a part of BMX history as the Street Beats, Performers, Masters, Trickstars etc. Granted that in the early / mid 80's they weren't rated very highly, but at the time there wasn't a lot of choice either.  You could say what's the point in restoring a Burner when they were s**t, but in all honesty they were only perceived as s**t once proper BMX's became available.  By that standard, you could then say, why build a GT or Haro, as they are c**p compared to what we have now.  Building a burner up now is more a case of nostalgia rather than trying 10ft whips on it.  No one is claiming they are great to ride.  Unfortunately I never owned one, but my brother did.  My first BMX was a Piranha, which I would think was on par to Burners.  I know that the Piranha was s**t, but I would love to own one once again. Not to ride on ramps, but to hang on my wall as a great part of my history.
