This started out as a Silver Streak, but alas the frame & forks I found need far too much work and I'm impatient!

Fortunately I found this Senior Pro f&f's (which is probably better for my adult size) so decided to recreate an identical copy of my childhood bike....the Silver Streak will just have to wait!

Specs:

1983 Senior Pro F&F's with Tange Headset from twoscoops33 on os-db.net £250

Wheels: OG Skyway Tuff II mags white £57.89

16T Freewheel PURCHASED ON MAGS

New Kool Kaps £15.99

Brake Pads: NOS Skyway white £9.38

New White wall tyres and tubes £17.99

NOS Skyway freestyle platform £152.88

Seat and Seat Post: OG Uni white £18.20

Handlebars: Made by Voris Dixon for me 09/2015: VDC Monkey Bars  £219 - autographed too!

Haro Thunderbolt brake cables: IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!
Substitute brake cables: NOS Dia Compe Green front & rear brake cable £30

Chainring Bolts: NOS Sugino £39.95
Crank: OG OPC Sugino Chro Mo 24TPI £34
Chainring: NOS Sugino Black 44T £30
Spider: NOS Sugino Silver £22.94
Chain: Re-pop Izumi 1/2x1/8" black and chrome £25.89

Stem: OG Diamond Back Sugino £45.35

Brakes: Re-Pop Dia Compe White MX1000 calipers and Tech 3 levers, front and rear £69.99

Pedals: NOS Haro Fusion DX £16.99

Bottom Bracket Set: NOS Odyssey 24TPI £15.95

Grips: NOS Fuan £30.62

Total including VAT and shipping £1105.50 :daumenhoch:

Enjoy!

Oh, and front and rear skinny pegs!
More photos added ;)

Totally happy with the odd mark here and there, if I'd have kept my old bike there's no way it would look this good 32 years later!
Thanks to everyone who gave me tips and advice, couldn't have done it without you :daumenhoch:

Thanks mate ;)
I just thought any novices like me looking to do a build will have a ballpark idea of what it's gonna cost, eg: a lot!!

Just shows what a build can cost, and some of the parts are modern repops!

You do need to flip your front brake pads round though as they are directional :daumenhoch:

Can someone tell me why this has been moved from Freestyle to Race?
I know it's a Senior Pro which was a race bike, but clearly this is a freestyle build!?

Thanks  :daumenhoch:

i just thought as it's a freestyle build it should go in the freestyle section.  Anyone wanting to gen up on freestyle bikes and how they looked ISN'T going to look in the race section! Sorry!

I know what you mean about the platform but as this is an identical rebuild I had to include it!
Yes I had Monkey Bars BITD, I still can't believe that Voris made me a new set!!
CW's are lovely too and will probably be on my next build  ::)
Thanks for the feedback  :daumenhoch:

Great first build there. Really pleased you got it done, and it's great to recreate your old bike. Some of the parts aren't to my taste, but that isn't the point at all. It's what you like that counts, and it's authentic to your original. Top marks  :daumenhoch:
Back in the day, I painted my Falcon Pro gold and put Skyway T/A decals on it! Clearly wrong, but that's the kind of thing we did!

Hey taipan, I've been thinking and you're right, the freestyle platform does look sort of out of place so I've decided to remove it!
Many vthanks :daumenhoch:
