ACS Boa front flex
« on: September 21, 2015, 11:19 AM »
I've got a 6mm ACS caliper and it's got some flex in it when the brake is applied.  I thought the whole point of the Boa and it's sealed bearings was it got rid of the flex?  Can it be serviced to make it solid again or is it a case that the bearing seals are knackered?

There shouldnt be flex in the Boa if it is servoced properly. The bearings are loose ball so the seals have no impact on the flex. Just make sure it is all tightened properly and running smooth. If it still flexes it will be in the actual 6mm bolt (which is why they all broke there.

You need to undo the round cover on the front to reveal the nut or flats on the spindle end. Then the round thing at the back of the brake arms has some little holes in, hold the front of the spindle with a spanner & find a suitable weapon to jam in the little holes in the round thing & tighten it up a bit..

Makes total sense to me , hope it does to you to  :LolLolLolLol:
