Anyone who bends a seat post needs to accept 2 things. Firstly your post is too high, secondly you eat too many pies. Both are easily remedied and thus braced seat posts are not required.  :daumenhoch:

Probably the demand now of sourcing decent parts has peaked .
All the best stuff is fitted to existing builds or like you in storage to complete.
Supply and demand..

Oh..
Use to bend loads of posts BITD..
Fitted the braced post sorted.. :daumenhoch:
And was only ten stone dripping wet at the time eating not a lot of pies... ::)

Surely a braced post will bend easier than a straight one - the weight is further back!  The brace just stops the post bending more at the bend, not where it is fitted in the frame. A stronger straight post is all that is needed.

Yes and by doing so puts even more stress on the frame at the seat post tube

Look....
BITD most of us had shite burners and was fed up with my knees just missing the bars due to the shite frame dimensions ..
The best seat post to give you the distance was the lay back seat..
Back then you didn't give it a fook about stressing the frame ..if it did go which happened to me twice (not near the seat post) you would get a replacement as I remember they give you a life time warranty on frame ..

I did have a Pro Burner frame and used a laid back post in it, but not braced. I rarely sat down on it so had it low, but it was the best post for poppin' a wheelie. It was a checkered Elina post  :daumenhoch:

Not disputing the knee room Ady mate, just that you said fitting a layback stopped them bending :)  You must have been using those fluted alloy ones for the Mk1 Burner :)

No worries bud.. :daumenhoch:
I was fed up back then with this shite ultra burner everything failing till I bought the rebel frame kit which came with the braced seat post..
This bike was indestructible ..
Trust me it had a battering back then... 8)

A guy posted on the Museum last night with a few stems for sale.

Pro Neck stem $90, PPP stem $500  :crazy2: Quote:- "i have never seen one of these for sale"

I know the purists will have you believe that they are super rare and worth the extra $410 but, it's a stem, isn't it   ???

Rare doesn't make it worth lots, desirability makes it worth lots. Rare could also mean "Junk, broke easy, not many about now".

It doesn't matter what's for sale at any price,  it's up to the buyer if they want to pay what is being asked.

as a buyer you have 3 choices

1. don't buy it.
2. Make an offer.
3. buy it at the advertised price.

it's up to you

Looking at FB over the last few days the "high end" stuff is still pretty reasonable, its the cheap nasty stuff that is going for silly money. People selling (and buying) really crappy taiwanese mod school stuff for a lot of cash. As long as both parties are happy I guess...

It's the same as that knob from cannock that polish's everything and calls it NOS with a high price. I think that's a c*nts trick but if people actually buy it at that price that's up to them
