I skated it a couple of times but that don't really count as it wasn't on a bike

Yep . . . I was there . . . loved the blue bowl and the snakes head . . . saw Glynn grabbin' big air many times

Allegedly, he's in the slammer for being a very silly man. To date, it's simply an unconfirmed rumour so I'm keeping quiet

I went down there once and met the locals when I was with Team Taylor, in fact a few of us went down there on the Saturday then met up with them the next day at Rom, 81 or 82 I think

I rode there quite a lot with Glyn when i was over at his house.... Nice place, proper little mini-rom

Gillingham was the first skatepark I ever rode in. But as usual my timing was brilliant. I went to it for the first time one Saturday and loved it. But the next Saturday I went down there and it had been filled in.

At least I could say I rode it once, although it being my first and only time there, didn't do anything of any significance. Looking back, it wasn't as far away as it seemed when I was 12 or 13. Would be ideal for me now.

I had loads of old school photos of me and my mates at Gillingham . . . they vanished during a ruthless house clearance soon after my folks split in the early 90's. I am so fookin' gutted as too many memories and pics of all my old bikes have gone for good . . . would love to see some others if anyone has any

Yeah, Glynn could really climb out of the blue bowl and man was that deep

yer thanks bill,a good 9 feet. that pool was simalar 2 rom's one but not over vert & more rideable.

I used a Bell Magmum, what could be wrong with a Bell crash helmet ?

I never really rated Glyn as he never used a coaster brake whilst all the other freestylers did, but that air out of the blue bowl is exceptional

Anyone remember the old boy who used to get down there - Bob? Bit of a dodgepot if i remember.

Unfortunately it's now a car park.

Glynn defo ruled the place but was a bit of an arrogant tw@t with it.IMO

Other names - Dean & Doug Hyatt,Mark & Paul Knight(matching Ripper's)Piers Mathieson to name a few.

i've heard that under the grass of the car park the bowls r still intact apart from a chunk from the bottom dug out 4 draining.
