Anyone had issues?
Got some OG 80s decals for the Curtis, hoping they haven't lost their sticky...

Worse case scenario if they are bone dry you could use some photo/spray mount. The missus uses it all the time in work and it's designed not to affect photos or delicate artwork so it *should be ok. About 8 quid a tin though

That's always an option

If I fook them up I have another set, but I was hoping to keep that for 'emergencies'

Same dimensions
Same chap built it

only difference is the date it was built... is that classed as repop? or just simply new?

Its a reproduction, it's not the original run.

Because Brian didn't give me any repop stickers

I'm putting 80s bits on it as it's not a new design, unlike the skyway/haro etc frame sets which are retro rather than repro I figured it would be out of character to start slapping new bits on it

Apart from the fact that the frame was made by the same guy using the same materials on the same equipment there are some nice OG ingredients left over from the 80s. The fork steerer, BB & head tube are all about 30 years old so at least there's some old school DNA in there

It's not going to fool anyone though, the dropouts say 2015 & I have absolutely no intention of ever selling it - hence getting my name stamped onto it

Ok I see what you're saying but... its made with the same tools in the same way, everything is the same.
99% of the reproduction stuff is manufactured in a different way, materials, tools, design (albeit small changes in most cases) which makes it different to the original.

What makes this different to the original?
I personally don't see these as reproduction just because the guy who builds them had a little holiday time where he didn't build any for a while.
Maybe I'm just being a bit sentimentally naive or unreasonable but for me its original.

2015 stamp don't mean anything, just means he had a lie in, a couple of sickies, a week or 2 in the sun... then went back to work.

Make sure they are warmed up before you apply them, not red hot but warm enough to activate the glue

I found some original decals for my super tuff burner, I was worried I might have issues with them, but it actually turned out they were a hell of a lot easier to stick down and position than repop ones. The adhesive on them was still fine even after all these years, plus even after they were fully stuck, you could still peel them up completley, reposition and stick down again... unlike repop ones that once stuck down they can't really be moved without stretching and distorting the decal.
