Most NOS items have been collected for the sake of it and just left, never fitted to bikes but then you see the odd piece surfacing due to the person needing the money for another project or interest, or the interest just dies and they get rid of everything.
There is still plenty of stuff around, I find that when a item classed as rare comes on ebay and sells for a silly amount of money, most of the watchers on that item own one themselves and soon as they see it sell they think i'm selling mine for that and you end up with half a dozen on there then the greed starts.
I was looking for ages for a mongoose gold stem then one pops on ebay for $230 and it sells , had loads of watchers, then when the auction ended another 5 came on all around the $230-$300 mark regardless of their condition

Good old bankrupt bike spares on ebay are still churning out some stuff from their boss's old warehouse! Must be the biggest bloody warehouse ever as it takes them weeks to dig anything out lol   only downside is they find a pair of wheels and decide that its best to split the set to be fair to everyone? Uh?  :wtf:

That's only if they win one they have to bid silly money to secure the other.

There is still loadsa nos stuff out there. I am in the process of building the same bike twice and have used more nos items than last time, I got an ACS Stoker stem, Haro tyres, ACs levers, Skyway hot seat , Tuf neck ring and spider all nos. You just got to look out for it on here, on ebay and bmxmuseum.
Some people bought the stuff when it was cheap and are selling it now at big profit. The problem is some peoples definition of nos is different to others. A lot of 'nos' parts have usually been fitted to umpteen show builds. Some although never used may have signs of 'shelf wear' (makes me laugh that one) or storage marks. Even if parts are nos they may still have signs of degradation, after all most are 30ish years old......you pays your money, you takes your choice!
You got to be prepared to pay a premium for truly nos parts as demand is high, and they will only get rarer

Cheers for the info lads, I've seen prices going up and up as the years go on, and more NOS stuff seems to be popping up.
I started on burnerworld so for the first 2 yrs of the second coming of my a Facebook group I was only looking for Raleigh parts.

Cheers for the replys lads.  :daumenhoch:

I'm still a bit dubious about some of the "NOS" bits that come up for sale. Not even the slightest hint of tarnish on the ally bolts or fixings.
Maybe call it "Not Old Stock"  :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:
