Patterson decal help dates etc please
« on: June 14, 2015, 12:46 PM »
hi guys

Ok I got an 82 Patterson pro and it has the older style decals... I need some fork decals but prefer the slightly newer white backed orange writing decals....
When did the decals change and any pics of fork decals on earlier ones ??

Thanks

im 99% sure that's my old one.if so it has redline forks which are still kind of correct. when patty first sprung up they only made frames so used a speedo fork, they then changed to a redline proline microline fork then made their own which are identical to the redline except the redlines have a rounder shoulder, youd be pushed to tell the differance

I sold mine to paul fraser(db250) who was building it for a chap near brighton, that would have been 4 years ago.i scored the frame on its own and had it rechromed and managed to get the froks here about a week after buying the frame, what are the chances of that!!the early pattys are awesome and in my opinion proper collectors pieces,i sold that one only because I managed to get a Patty long just after

I think these are the best decals, the last of the pattys pre pr series, late 82/early 83 the newer and best font but without the white background

I'm with Mark here (btw Mark, that bike above is one of my all-time favourite builds, period!!!), that Patty deserves correct-era decals not the later PR ones. Don't get me wrong, I like the latter but the older ones are a simpler design, which imo better matches the frameset. If you haven't already guessed, this is by far my favourite era of Patty! Although I like the late-70s and PR-series ones, the lines of the early 80s frames really do it for me! :smitten:

So is this one of the Trackmaster-built fames? In any case, am looking forward to the build thread!!! :daumenhoch:

Try Glynn Hicks (Hicks Sign Co), member Prosixtyfive on Ozbmx.  I got these through him...

Not the greatest picture but they are great quality decals  :daumenhoch:

Nice one! Btw, did you see that Spen was selling an orange lever cover for a quid. Not sure what colour scheme you're going with but that would look great with those decals! :daumenhoch:

Anyway, I'll stop stalking you and your Patty now, and will wait patiently for the build thread! :D
