Titanium was never cheap, but metal prices have been rocketing recently due to the middle eastern issues. High energy prices mean it costs more to make but also traders see things like that as safe investments in times of uncertainty........  ::)

I don't think that is overpriced, I remember a few years ago, Kona made a hardtail MTD Frame from Titanium & that cost £1500 & thats ££££££££ not $$$$$$$$.

Also a mint Gen 1 could sell for close to that & that would probally not even get used !!
