Polishing a Pork...
« on: June 10, 2015, 12:37 PM »
I'm going to start trying to build a lightweight (!) alloy 2 Hip Pork (thanks Webbie) and wanted to strip it back and give it a mirror finish.
There's a few tutorials online but wondered if anyone had done something similar before?
Is it a case of:
Stripping paint (what's best for this?)
Gradual sanding with finer and finer paper
Polish (what's the best stuff to use?)
Do I need to spray anything on top to protect it after I've polished it?

Any guidance much appreciated

How's it looking now?
Most here would tell you not to strip it if it's in good 'survivor' condition.
That said, do you have any pics of the frame in question?! :)

The paint isn't terrible but I'm after creating something unique hopefully. I'm still trying to decide to be honest
