Been looking through the US patent office archives.
Cook Bros Uni Clamp system 1981.Very similar to the aheadset Cane Creek patent no US 5095770 A which surfaced in 1990-2 no wonder there's been quite a few wrangles about it over the years.http://www.google.co.uk/patents/US5095770
