Bmx parts that never hit the streets
« on: June 10, 2015, 10:36 AM »
Looking through old magazines and forum threads it seems there were a fair few parts and frames that got as far as being reviewed or advertised but never saw production.

A few that spring to mind are

The ACS wedgelok stem

The uni crossfire

The Redline roto-tech rotor system

This freestyler from Freeagent

Anyone know of any other gems lost to history?

Sixteen thirty-two. What is that? A year?   No, it's your top score on Pole Position.

Been looking through the US patent office archives. Although i found loads for Linn Kastan (redline) including flight cranks i couldnt find any evidence of the roto-tech rotor system above  :(

Cook Bros Uni Clamp system 1981.

Very similar to the aheadset Cane Creek patent no US 5095770 A which surfaced in 1990-2 no wonder there's been quite a few wrangles about it over the years.

I know it was available but it didn't exactly catch on/hit the streets until much later, was it S&M that used it, suppose it depends on your definition of hitting the streets.

Looking through old magazines and forum threads it seems there were a fair few parts and frames that got as far as being reviewed or advertised but never saw production.very sure I've seen a freestyle frame nearly the same as that one in the pic for sale either on Facebook bmx pages or ebay

A few that spring to mind are

The ACS wedgelok stem

The uni crossfire

The Redline roto-tech rotor system

This freestyler from Freeagent

I'm pretty sure that this thing never went into full production (could be wrong, English was never my strongest subject  ::) )
