Haro Planned Restoration
« on: June 22, 2015, 09:37 PM »
I plan to complete a restoration on a Haro 540, but I need some advice on the frame and preparation for paint. What do people recommend for stripping the paint and what type of paint (powder etc) to finish it off. This project is for my son who will actually be involved in the whole process.

Advice on stripping and paint is required, but advice on the whole project would be much appreciated. The bike requires EVERYTHING....

 :welcome

I'd get yourself comfy in the midschool section and find a bloke called Dodge, he's just done Mira so he will be able to help with specs etc.
Here's his thread http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,176957.0.html

As far as paint goes, get some synstrip paint stripped then get it powder coated, paints ok but doesn't have the longevity or toughness of powder
