Shed engineering, Bodging
« on: June 16, 2015, 10:37 PM »
I know there's a few on here that like a bit of bodging and tinkering.
Here's my latest, Now replaced with a proper part.
Needed a hanger for a rear brake, Kept looking at seat clamps, But either looked shite, Were too expensive, Or wrong size. Even thought about trying to use the part from a Odyssey Pitbull some how, But they seem to command silly money now. So made my own just so I could test ride the bike. Made from an old spoke and barrel adjuster and using 2 pairs of pliers and a dremel.
Bit of bending and twisting

Did the job for what I needed. Fitted a Surly one today. Brake feels alot better

Nitto make one aswell which I prefer the look of but could only seem to find them in the States and $20 each.

Kinda prefer the ghetto one. Top bodging  :daumenhoch:
Sixteen thirty-two. What is that? A year?   No, it's your top score on Pole Position.

I've got quite a few spokes, Might get myself some silver solder and have a go at some more using some heat to get a neater bend and silver solder to put on a adjuster, Should have a few of them in the spares box.
This is the Niito one
