Early 1985 GHP PRO 1 Greg Hill tribute build.

Well here goes ...
My first ever race bike build. I wanted to create a tribute to Greg Hill borrowing from the bikes he road from 1983-85.
I love the GHP colour scheme and have tried to get a good balance of colours without over doing it. Less is more as they say. This bike is super light and super fast. It's a race thoroughbred and is built to be ridden and raced around the track. With all my builds I get a buzz from using parts I could only dream of owning when I was a kid. This was meant to be a budget build but as we all know builds always take on a life of their own. There's no such thing as a "budget build" !

Parts used-
(NOS)
Oakley F1s
Cycle Pro Shotgun 1 ( early )
Haro Colour Plate ( with  drilled on Tech Number 3 as Greg often rode )
Suntour Clamp
Suntour headset lock
Shimano DX Lever
Shimano DX 16t freewheel
Sugino 43t chainring

(OG)
Hutch beartraps
Dia Compe MX900 rear
Re-chromed Sugino OPC
Sugino spider
Tioga headset
Suzue LF hubs
Wiennman rims
Izumi chain

All other minor parts are generic or NRPs

For lots more photos and info please look at both the build thread and finished build threads here on rad.

Many thanks to all the Radsters who helped me make this build the stunner that it is! ( Joff, Andy DTTDB, RetroDan, Dazza)

1985 Vincent freestler gen 2.
Was lucky enough to get this from the original owner. After carefully cleaning & polishing I've finally finished it ( prematurely called it finished a while back but decided it needed more )....
Wanted to put it back as close to hiw the og owner had it built bitd, tyres, grips n levers were knackered so found some suitable survivor grips n levers but went with new panny copy tyres for reliability.
First pic is how it was bitd & I'm too drunk to list the parts but you all know what's what 😉😉😉
WANTED : 1" freestyle forks, uglier the better

1988 Skyway 280TA

In 1988, Skyway introduced 2 complete BMX Race bikes. The 280TA and the 300TA. Both of these models featured spoked wheels, and not Skyway mags.  The 280TA had caliper brakes and the 300TA had AD990's.

I have tried to keep it close to the standard equipment it had when released (a few changes like Uni Turbo seat, but pretty damn close) hope you like it.

Parts List:

Frame:  Skyway 280 TA
Forks:  Landing Gear Replica (will eventually find some Skyway forks for it)
Headset:  Tange
Stem:  DK
Bars:  Rickman Reynolds 531
Grips:  Ame Tri (new ones)
Seat:  Uni Turbo
Seat Clamp:  Tioga
Brake Lever:  Dia-Compe Tech 5
Brake Caliper:  Dia-Compe Bulldog
Rims:  Sumo 7X
Hubs:  Suzue Low Flange
Tyres:  Cheng Shin Comp III
Cranks:  Tioga One Piece
Pedals:  MKS Beartrap
Chain:  KMC
Chainring:  Skyway Turbo disc
Padset:  Skyway
Valve Caps:  Skyway
