Is this a special Aero Pro?
« on: August 27, 2006, 05:56 PM »
I've just been to a friend's house as he had this aero burner in his garage with Pro Racer decals on the forks and and a head tube sticker with "Official World Championship IBMXF Model 85-86", I've never seen one with these decals before, is it some sort of special edition or just an aero pro?
(sorry for the lame phone camera pics)

for the record ive just sold one the same as that, althought the one i had was mint and 100% original parts.
i had rad members offering me money left right and centre.most offering around the £100 mark.turns out that that burner is very rare indeed,a very special bike in the eyes of burner fans.
i sold mine for £600 just last week.
dont let it go and dont let anyone try and scam you like they did with me!

i think that comment is a little harsh, a bike is only worth wot someone is prepared to pay for it. your bike albeit a very very nice one, and being the same spec and frame as an aero pro in my eyes is not an aero pro, its a late version of an aero pro, because of the pro race decals. easily rectified by a repro decal set. Its raleigh's attempt at bringing out a new model with "OLD" parts nothing special at all.

saying that i would have still bought it, £600 IMVHO was way too much, and i own one of these pro race aero pros too. (paid £250 for mine, but not mint). I've owned 6 aero pro's so far and never paid anywhere near £600 for one. and i have owned at least 2 original component minters.

if someone puts a max bid of £100 on ebay that doesnt mean they are scamming you, it means thats all they are prepared to pay. So someone offering the same on here means the same not a rip off.

sorry to rant but i think a scam comment was not required.

Thanks for the info, Jeez £600 for a burner!
Unfortunately I dont think he'll sell, he just asked what it actually was but i didnt know. BITD he bought my original aero pro off me, so he picked it up for nostalgic reasons. If I told you what he paid for it you'd all feel sick.
If he sells it I'll be sure to make sure he joins here and give you lot first dib dobs.

Its an Aero pro with silly stickers on it

After someone won something on one, they felt the need to re sticker the aero pro as a winners choice UKBMXA machine.

Funny thing is they must of re stickered them  as all the aero pros came stickered up from Japan.

right raleigh tea boy , pick them stickers off Lol

They were
a great buy a few years ago , as no one knew they were an aero pro in disguise

it is a special aero pro and differ from the original in the following ways

the welds were done using "heavy electricity"
the frame is made from special alloy which the beagle brought back from mars (yeah i know they told you it crashed and was never herd of again)
nano bots were sealed inside the maintubes so when you get some air they all jump simultaneously to get you higher
all the bearings are made from kryptonite but are sealed in superman friendly casings
it is of alien origin and came to earth desguised as a burner so no-one would give it a second look

http://www.raleighburner.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php't=3674&start=0

i had 6 people offering between £400-£550 for it.
that bike got more responce, faster than any other bike ive had or seen for sale.
i was gettin offered big money from the burner boys within minutes of it being posted on there site.
to be fair on rob i gave her to him for £550,but he sent the extra £50.
he didnt need to do that did he.
rob ur a superstar m8. :daumenhoch:
