Im not sure soaking does a great deal to be honest. The problem is that i bought all the dowels for the frame kiln dried which sets the lignin in the wood (the stuff that makes it flex) It cant really be unset by water thought water can soften the wood itself a little.Made a jig for the slight S shape in the chainstays. Hopefully the curves are gentle enough to bend the dowels but i suspect i may need green Ash for that too
I did think that and they would be easy enough to do but I'm going for an early look and 4 piece bars don't really convey that. Might make a set anyway
