Bars....What would you have, and why...
« on: March 18, 2015, 07:57 PM »
Hey guys, I am looking for some opinions, and advise, here really on what bars you would look to buy for a 1984 Freestyle bike.

The frame and fork is chrome so I would also like to have chrome bars and a max price tag of around £120.

What do you consider to be good bars for a freestyler, and in keeping with era correctness  ???

Thanks  :daumenhoch:

I like them too Dan, but I am not paying Biaggio's price them  "nono"

CW pro bars was my weapon of choice back when i actually rode them.......
;D  When I got my brand new Super Tuff Burner, the bars cane straight off for CW Pro bars. I was pi$$ed though, as the front cable wouldn't reach the lever so had to buy a new DC rear and cut it  :D

Always preferred the look of GT Freestyle bars. Simple, chunky and look good chrome or painted.

how much does Baggio want for chrome MKII EZ's?  £100  ???   i'd say that's not far off what a NOS chrome set should be really  :-\

To be honest Terry, in 1984 most of us were still using good quality race bars I'd argue. The exotic stuff hadn't really hit our shores for freestylers and for this reson I would always turn to my favourite bar of all time, good old GT Pro's :smitten:

It's your ride of course mate, but all these crazy multi-tube, welded bits and pieces all over the place freestlye bars will always look cluttered IMHO, even Skyway EZ's and ladder bars. A good, clean set of chrome straight bars always look right I think :coolsmiley:
Still limping......

Did you sell your SR pro bars Terry ? If not use them,  lovely big bars (clean & simple) I have a set (NFS) & they were what i used back in the day before buying in to some CW's like most other people...

I hear you Spen. I do love the Pro bars. The Kuwahara bars are also on par with those. I am just looking for peoples ideas and input on what bars I could/should be rolling with bro  :daumenhoch:

Maybe just me but, I wouldn't pay £110 for EZ II bars, including postage, not when I can get GT Pro bars for less. I only paid $150 for my 1st gen Hutch Pro bars. They are not NOS but they are in superb condition.

I think you've got a job to beat Hutch pro bars, they are my favourites, what about a set of hutch pro ladder bars ?
