My 1999 GT Dyno Compe.
Here's a picture of it when I bought it last year.
I was happy with the way the bike looked but for me the ride could be made a little better. The only change I made before my first ride out (Chest-Air) was to remove the rear frame standers so I could ride it without catching my heel after every pedal stroke.
Being around 6ft 2in tall I had the usual problems of the seat being a little low, and banging my knees on the handlebars. I solved the knee banging issue by angling the bars forward, but the steering does suffer as a consequence.
So, a few changes were required. The first was a braced lay-back seat post, closely followed by a plain GT Seat. The final change was a pair of mongoose kneesaver handle bars. The bikes ride is now far more suited to me and I think looks a little better too and all in the changes only cost me £75.
The only change I may make is to cut an inch off the back of the seat post so the seat bracket sits closer to the brace (purely for aesthetics lol).
Here's an image of the bike now.
Just need to get out on more rides now
