Ripper question!!!
« on: January 25, 2015, 12:44 PM »
I was wondering if any of you guys had removed the pivots at the back off the frame for the brake and added a brake bridge too it instead? if so whats the best way to remove the pivots then did you file or sand it smooth to blend in with the frame,i know id need to take it too an alu welder to make and put the brake bridge on.

cheers graham

Graham, I'm sure there was some one on here a few years back, that did this to a Quadangle, could have been Darren KAP.

Didn't Costa do a black quad as well?

just looked and can't see any of Costa's bike in Me & My bikes section...
He definitely had a black quad with the lugs off

I'm with Pickle though - if you've got a new frame with a new brake why mod it so it doesn't work so well?
If you want OG brakes get an old loopy to put them on

Loopy rippers aren't £600 at all.  Leave the V's and buy an old one if that's what you want.......you'll never be happy with it until you get an old one.......then you'll have a new frame that no one wants

Get a nice V brake and enjoy stopping power rather than pull the lever and hope

See if you can get a 1" head tube welded on there while your at it, may as well have a headset that comes undone all the time to go with your brake that doesn't work :4_17_5:
