this topic was covered once before so there is a thread someware... it can be a mine field .. insurers will insure you but its the underwriter that sets the conditions. i have made sure that all my bikes are insured as individual items . also i have spoke in depth with the insurance and explained that they are "vintage/collectable" and may not be easily replaced. so each bike has an agread value/price.  :daumenhoch:

You don't need to declare a value of each bike; the ones in your house can be included in your contents. Assess the value of those or the cover you require, add it to  the cover you need for your other items & amend your policy.
Axa offer 80k cover for around £20pm.

Check if your insurer has a max number of bikes and value.  :-\

If they are just show bikes then the amount should be irrelevant as they are just part of the contents. It's whether you can acquire a policy to cover the entire contents.

None of my stuff is show condition but there is. Few quids worth that I would loose if stolen as I think my contents insurance will prob not cover also as they are not kept in or on the property I am not sure they would be covered anyway. I was wondering if there is a company that will run a separate cover For garages for instance

As they are in a lock up you may have to go to a local small insurance brokers to you. Not sure if someone like Big Yellow would have their own policies. May be worth checking with your own insurer first.

If you do keep any of them for example in your shed. They may not be covered as the insurer may require them to be in a brick building with proper locks. Not a padlocked shed.

I've previously worked in insurance and the best motto is if in doubt ask. If you get the answer you want then get the rep's name and note the date & time you rang. Small print is a minefield in insurance.
