Jesus that volvo only just fits mate  :D

Don't be daft Carl, there's at least 20mm spare after the tow-bar ::)

The missus uses the middle one that's 1.1m bigger, even though her car is smaller.... it's just safer that way :2funny:

Last update from me as the sun was out so I took a pic of the (almost) finished item. I can't render it until I've finished the house as it's coloured render so needs to be done at the same time, but to say I'm pleased with it is an understatement :coolsmiley:

Nick, the garage itself is the man-cave mate. Behind the garages there's a big room we've fitted a kitchen & lounge into with a few bedrooms and bathroom above them which is where we're currently living as we can't live in the original house while I practically demolish it and re-build it over the next 12 months  :daumenhoch:

There is a second loft above the bedrooms which is the kid-cave. Currently it's got all their Lego and other toys up there but they love it as it has a loft-ladder access and is carpeted & heated up there :daumenhoch:

Instead of doing something sensible like finishing half-built bikes, I have spent the past week clearing out the big barn-like shed attached to our house. On the plus side, that meant finally doing something about bike storage! I gave up on the idea of hanging bikes from the rafters and instead made a bike stand from old wood lying about the place. I won't win any carpentry awards but at least it works! :daumenhoch:

Forgot about this thread for a bit Mick! This lockdown has meant I've been getting around to finishing the kids/wife cave in the garden so they stay out of the garage  :2funny:

Insulation is now in and a dozen sheets of ply arrive tomorrow to get the inside finished for them to use over summer  :daumenhoch:

Ah, insulation! I'd forgotten about that stuff. Ventilation is king over here, certainly with older Japanese houses, which explains why I'm sat here in front of a kerosene stove, wearing multiple layers of clothing plus a hat and gloves! & that's in the kitchen! :D

It will be when it's finished Danny, but I'm out of cash right now so we're living in the bit behind the garage and above it, so about 90m2 of space. Fine for a family of four for a bit, but couped up during lockdown it's a bit small
