TBH Andy it's surprising how involved you get in things like this. I work in Civil Engineering so know what to do but finding the time is the problem. Luckily I have lots of mates with various trades locally and got them involved to get it finished

I designed it then got an architect to draw up my building regulation plans, then once I had planning permission sorted, I got a mate on-board to help me and knocked down the old garages and outbuildings

It looks like this from the back, it's effectively a granny flat which we have moved into while we spend the next year or so rebuilding the house. It doesn't look it from the front but the footprint is nearly 100m2 so quite an udertaking

Didn't know you're working in Civil Engeneering, but it's quite obvious that there are - besides finding the time some propper skills necessary. I wish you all the energie you need for all the work that is left to rebuild the house.

Mick I actually use some proper brackets that are totally adjustable as they have a heavy duty arm at each end that swing out to any angle so the bikes can be positioned any position you need

I'll grab a pic when I get a chance as I can't remember the brand $:-\$

Have been thinking about something like the hooks below, though worry about waking up in the morning to find all my beloved bikes lying in a crumpled mess on the floor!! I guess you get what you pay for!

Mick, it depends if you're riding the bikes or not as you need a bracket that can offset far enough from the wall for a BMX as your bars are usually about 26-30" wide. If you want to display a pony, you can turn the bars and even swap the pedal on one side to be out the way and use much smaller hangers

As you can see from the state of my kid's Redlines, it's a miracle they actually get hung on the wall but I need the space for the cars

Been stripping out the old kitchen units today to make my new work bench - it's 5.4m long so I bought a couple of cheap worktops and am going to put some decent shelving up on the wall to sort my cr@p out

All my bikes are riders rather than wall-hangers, as it were. Actually, I want to hang them from the rafters - literally in my case as I now live in a 150 year old house with big ol' wooden beams. Here's where I want to put/hang them:-

Looks tidy Lee.

It feels really good to have a good sort out in the cave. Mine’s having some major improvements this year. Had a good tidy up in there last week though.

That’s what it’s all about mate, and something to remember when filling yours up. I’ve kept the practical stuff (decorating/gardening/camping) away from the garage, as much as possible but had to buy a shed to do this, which wasn’t cheap but this now allows me all the space I need to add only cool stuff that I can stand and talk about with other blokes that pop round.

Like your thinking Dan, I also built a summer house for the wife to keep her out the garage. On the side is a shed for my gardening tools and on top is a suspended platform I'm gonna put a treehouse on for the kids when I get time (been a bit busy!) so they'll keep out the garage too

It’s the only way Spen. My Mrs thinks I’m selfish because I have all this space and I’ve moved all the crap out of the garage into the shed at the top of the garden and all Amber’s bikes and scooters into her play house. Janine thinks that the shed is some sort of Ibiza beach bar for use when we’re on the decking. I was quick to point out that we live in the U.K. and we can’t even use the decking for 8 months of the year and that I’m in and out of my cave every other day and want the space for cool stuff.

Im moving house in the next 2-3 weeks & although i have a (Man house) with no women or kids (bliss) The Garage refurb & Man cave garden (Bar) build are pretty much the 1st things on the agenda...

Been a bit quiet on the mancavery front as been skint due to our good friend the taxman tearing me a fresh one at the end of January.....

But had to have a shuffle around to get the latest arrivals for the kids bikes up and move a few others as well. All a bit snug now
