Annodising hubs

Is it simple or are there any difficulties with the bearing cases being steel... can they just be masked off or do they need popping out ?

Basically anything that isn't aluminium will be eaten away by the anodising process.

Remove anything that is steel, or it will not be there when you pick the part up from the anodisers.

I always thought that but Paul at CCA did a Suntour stem for me (polished alloy to Red) and he didn't remove the shaft . Maybe it's because the shaft was chrome plated that it doesn't affect it :-\  . There was no damage at all to the chrome plating on the shaft .

TNT hubs... not sure if they're sealed or loose ball tbh. Like i say just asking the question. If i can remove the bearings and cups i will do unless they can be masked. I'll worry about it when the time comes.   :daumenhoch:

Thanks Sam. I always wondered how CCA could re-anno my tech 3 levers perfectly without me having to remove the rivet. Ah, those halcyon days.... ::)
