GHP ?
« on: December 08, 2014, 07:45 PM »
Hi fellow bike lovers

I'm looking at a GHP full bike on the museum site for sale.
Can anyone confirm which Model it is ?
Also why there would be holes in the dropouts ?
Markbikeman is the seller.
Can anyone help, really want a GHP and don't want to
make an expensive mistake.

Thanks Paul

Its just the frame I need confirmation on, Cheers guys

cheers swan.

Each to their own but I wouldn't take that bud.

Forks aren't GHP and none of my GHPs have drilled rear drops. It does look like a GHP frame but it's been tinkered with...  Thumbs down

As Kunting says they're not GHP forks...certainly not any that I'm familiar with. Maybe he's 10 years out...

I thought about one of the retro GHP ... They are pretty sweet .. Limited in numbers they do come up on ebay from time to time and usually go for less than £200....
I ended up with my lush 85 Pro I  instead ;)

Have we missed the point there that the BIKE is only £130?

For that amount of money who gives a flying fook what the forks are!

Ride it!

R Al was riding his retro GHP cruiser at the Heywood BMX jam thing the other week and I thought it looked really nice, I was slightly jealous. The New School version rides superbly Team Rhodes will be sporting another GHP cruiser in the 2015 season  ^"^

Nobody is saying the sale is determined whether the forks are GHP, it's just being discussed you slut!
It's not £130 shipped to the UK.

Hi Guys,

latest reply from Markbikeman "quote"

"There is a serial number on inside left dropout. The holes are a mystery. They  are precisely positioned. They were done after frame was plated.  One hole goes through the serial number making one digit not readable.  Greg Hill was working for GT when he started up GHP. This frame was made in the same Japan factory as GT and has the same style serial numbers.  They decode the same. The number indicates 1984. I also compared to all GHP photos I could find. GHP was the only one who did the nice job blending the seatstay into the toptube. Beautiful work.  Mark"

My aunt lives in the next state, she will then ship it over to the UK.

Questions are;

1) Is it worth starting a build with this frame, which will end up costing about £300 and it has defaults.

2) How often does a GHP pro1 come on the market?

I really want to start building this bike. This was the bike I finish racing on in 86.
Mine didn't have holes in the rear drops either.

What do you Recken??????????  Please offer any advice.

Thanks for your help so far.
Paul.

could be way out but from memory those forks look similar to the kastan made mid 90s haro forks or the kuwi champion forks. I have not been bothered to look up said forks but the drops remind of them.
