Which chain to go for?
« on: November 17, 2014, 10:56 PM »
The chain is really rusty on my new bike, want to replace it for a silver one.

Seen these two around a tenner each, or better with halflink chain?

Thanks :daumenhoch:

You won't go far wrong with a kmc 510  :daumenhoch:

You'll only need a halflink for a frame with a short chain stay length so stick with a regular chain if you can

2 minutes turkish...

I live a couple of miles from Winstanleys that's why I use them, and never had a problem with them.

Get what you can afford Paul. A chain is a chain these days. Unless it's a gsport.  ;)

always used KMC Z510H  in the past , never had any trouble with em ,

went for a half link chain when i first went for 25/ 9 gear ,  had 3 half link chains,  one was  an oddy one,  broke all 3 , one stuffed me over the bars onto a concrete floor  :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff:

back on the 510H now :daumenhoch: , fook yer half link chains ,   :knuppel2:   :LolLolLolLol:

Half links = shite.

I've had two go on me, one of em's pin was so fookin shitty my ratchet hub kept babbing the pin out. Saying that though you may not have the same probs and want to slam your rear wheel, so try one out if that's the case.
