Rib sided skinny rims
« on: November 16, 2014, 04:06 PM »
Anybody know what these are??

I've never seen rib-sided skinnies before, and these are 1 3/8.

Ive got some Ambrosio rims that have the ribs on the side walls, but are both 1.75's. What about Diamond Back rims ?

I was actually looking for Spencer skinnies when these came up... They do look more like Ambrosio rims with that side ribbing. My 1.75 Spencers are stamped though, whereas these are not. I only bought them today (two pairs) so I will be able to have a closer look when they arrive in the post. I'm hoping to find some markings or perhaps a decal shadow...

Pretty cool looking I thought  8)

Just checked my 1.75 Spencers more thoroughly and they Aldo have a '4 83' stamping on the inside so I will have to check there skinnies for similar markings when they arrive. Do Ambrosio rims have date stampings too?

The rims turned up this morning, and they look great! Much better than the eBay pics. I have placed them next to my Spencer-stamped 1.75's and they look almost identical so I'm convinced they're Spencer skinnies  :coolsmiley:

Perfect for my Birmingham WHEELS builds  :daumenhoch:  :Great_Britain:

Hmmm... Now you've got me thinking.

They ARE wider than my 1 3/8 stamped UKAI's but are the same diameter...??!

How wide should they measure??

spencers made a 20" x 1-5/8 rim which they made in silver or black

they could be staral rims as these were almost identical to spencers :-\

Were they 'skinny diameter' Phil? I've never seen any rims like these before.

These will take skinny tyres due to their larger diameter so I'll have to see how they look; low profile I'd imagine.

We're they rib-sided do you know? The seller also has a single blue example, so they came in at least two colours...!

Bit different anyway  8)
