lots of inner cable exposed, then feed the barrel into the body of the lever and hook it over the two little forks that are inside the body of the lever.. sorry Andy, not very good at describing stuff.  :-[

Or go completely cable out and thread it through but the method above works for me :daumenhoch:

Guess I'm just a lazy git... I've always just bent the clamping strap until it went over the bars..

Yes, these slide over the Bars & If they're painted  you could easy strip the paint off with these Levers.....
Good Brake tho.....

Used to love these bitd. So bleedin light. Pain in bootie to fit tho.

I used to chop some card (approx 1-2mm thick- try bogroll insert) to a couple or more inches wide and fit over bars wrapping it around a bit. Then gently ease open the clamp and slide it over the card. Clamp should spring enuff open.

Alternatively go round the bar where you mount the lever with a bit of electrical tape. Tho i did  have a dx cut into the tape once when i was being sloppy stoned.

Fiddly but hope that helps?

Andy I've just found this hope it helps? Basically DX are weird. They push the sleeve not pull the cable.

Text from webs:

This is hard to explain but here goes. I assume you have brake lever and grip installed. DX lever pushes the cable housing instead of pulling the cable, keep this in mind and it makes it easier to work out.

The round bit on the end of the cable -----o needs to go through the lever completely and sits on a hook section which is normally covered by the grip flange. peel grip flange back and you will see hooked section. hooking this on is easiest when lever depressed and cable loose.

Next the metal end of the cables outer housing (called the housing ferrel if memory serves me) should rest on the section at the side opposite the grip, you should see another two small hooks to hold it in place (you will see this section move when you move the lever).

Thats it, now get the caliper conected and adjusted and that should be you working...lol

Make sure you have the plastic clip inside the lever that the cable ferule goes into; they often drop out and go missing.  Without the plastic clip you won't get the cable to pull  :daumenhoch:

Good advice. They don't work as good as tech 3's though I went from the dx's to tech 3's and never looked back :) the dx's are damn pretty though lol
