This will all depend on if you're going to buy a set already built Rob, or if you buy all the components separately?I got a set of Pro Class hoops off here for £30, hubs for £30 and I was kindly donated all the spokes needed. My cost shot up though when I got my local bike shop to build them (£36). The only other cost is rim tape (leccy tape).Obviously, the cost will rise if you use a higher spec hub, sealed Suntour for example, I've used LF/LB Suzue's.

It's quite therapeutic actually... with a sense of achievement once complete. Should be a doddle for a man of your calibre.
