Redline confussion!!!!!
« on: November 02, 2014, 07:43 PM »
Good evening gents. Some Redline help please....
I have the below frame that I'd like to flog. However I am a bit confused...

The serial number matches that of "unknown year japanese made MXIII" according to the databases I can locate. It does match some of the detailed descriptions of an MXIII.

BUT it also matches the details of a PL20 Carrera (which when I bought it, I believed it to be....) such as bridge behind bb, dropout shape etc. It also has large breath holes in the BB. The welds are lovely, tubing very light. Fork is tapered and definitely matches a carrera.

If i can get chance to take more snaps this week I will.

Any help out there?

Cheers for that. I was sure it was a Pl20 but the serial numbers confused me somewhat....but as you say thats not unusual. Its exactly the same as one that sold in the states a few weeks ago. But ist best to certain before flogging it. Any ideas of value (the Win Redline bars in the pic will be included)?
It feels quality, I just wish I had the time to build it.

If that is an original paint colour inside the bb shell then it is probably a Redline 700p frame set from around 1986 which is the same as the earlier PL20 Carerra II frame set from 1983. Looks like a teal colour in the bb shell from the pics  :daumenhoch:

Hi, I think from what I can see it was sprayed by a previous owner.  Cheers for the info. Any idea what I could reasonably ask for it (inc bars)? I was thinking about £200..........I have some flights, maybe a I should do a Redline package deal!
