GT id......expert help needed

serial number G684226
what model is it? what year is it? are the forks GT?, are they the right ones?

don't know what to tell you alan, i got an 84 that still has a straight end on the top tube and serial on the rear dropout without a G, i got an 86 cruiser which has a serial on the dropout and no G. i reckon that it's an 86 by the stamping on the dropouts, but i wouldn't bet me house on it. :-[

remonds me alan, theres a peugeot pit bike for sale here, white cpx with crap red mags. ;D

the forks look right, although for the Huntingdon Beach models there are some different drop outs around, have a look at the Mach 1's on OS

Hi,

I got an 84 pro that has a str8 cutoff no stamp on top tube but also this which should be an 84/85 mach one stamped gt00443 or summat like on BB shell there was a site somewhere that sorta did some serials to year for gt's will try n find n post link. this is me mach one and a shot of forks too gonna start resto work soon i think ;D anyone got nos decals?





Top tip when lyin on yer back takin a piccy of yer bike try n keep feetses n legses out of shot  :idiot2:

rear drop outs look similar, have ya got a photo of those. do's it have GT 4130 on the end of the top tube.

it looks like that one has four holes in the rear drops  :-\

OK heres the GT shot's from the mach one I have three holes also but no stampage on either dropout??





and heres my latest e-bay purchase described as 84, serial n forks say 83 to me ;D  Bit of a bargain methinks (hopes) bout 400 with tax n shippin but came with extra CW bars nos araya 1 3/8's in red 46T tuf neck in blue 43T PPP in gold full padset no nicks or stains :o)  Flite seat cover uni turbo hinged DC mx etc etc (omg how sad can you tell i've fallen for her  :-[ )





blue dk stem, suntour beartraps, epoch headset with dirt skirt, sr tubular? 1 pce crank k k i'll stop now

most race frames upto 04 had that same look with the same stamps, ive sold quite a few frames like that over the past couple of years

From memory (my dad used to sell GT's for geoff barraclough) the F&F is the same on all the earlier GT's it was just the spec which caused different 'models' to be cheaper or dearer and the mach one came with entry level everything :o)
