Wheels and tyres sorted, May go with the Gt bars as they were with it and in similar nick.
Thoughts on a seat? Current thinking is a Brooks vitesse... $:-\$

With todays addition and the seatpost removed with a spot of fettling she shouldnt be far off being ready to build

Just need to resto the cranks and lightnings, find some grips and bb set.

A nice Bmx this VITUS. I do not know this VITUS series with this style of welds. More often than those that can be seen are those whose technique was following the aircraft with nested and glued tubes!

After the fun of getting the GT post out with a custom tool i had to build

..... i thought the build would just be a case of waiting for the right parts and a good clean up with the peek polish.
With the woody Marlboro build delayed whilst i sorce new materials i thought i would spend the afternoon with a handfull of rags getting the frame presentable.........
I had left the GT post just sat in the top of the seat mast so it wouldn't get lost and it reminded me that it would probably be wise to give the inside of the seat mast a good scrub to remove any debris.
Imagine my horror then when i felt the wire bottle brush hit something!!!

I quick look with a torch revealed what looked like mud

No problem i thought, i will just knock it out with a steel rod. The rod yealded no soil but what looked to be old wood dust!
I broke out the 7/8th drill bit and found the going more difficult then expected. A second tip out of the debirs revealed more brown dust and a tell tail white dust with the smaell of old gloss paint tins you find in the back of the shed

My fears were soon confirmed with larger pieces of what were obviously Glass fibre

An hour later and victory over the seat mast was finally mine

No wonder i struggled to get the GT post out, not only was it rusted in but also wedged in the remnants of a glassfibre post

A chance stumbling across some Terry cable style lever hoods has taken this build off on a very slight tangent. Going to try and balance a blue theme with a bit of black

Spent more time than was sensible trying to find a french looking doorway around the back streets of Manchester yesterday.

Wasnt entirley succesfull but here she is finished for those who missed her at MK
