Robinson forks?
« on: October 15, 2014, 09:44 AM »
Does anybody on here know anything about Robinson forks? These came on the Brum WHEELS I collected yesterday - I just wanted to check dating more than anything as I know nothing about them. They have a very rounded upper profile as you can see in the pic. Drop outs and welds look good, and both original decals are present. Very light.

Any info appreciated. Thanks guys.

Going of the decal style I would say they are around 86 Mart  ;)

I could do with them for my Robo mini if you decide to sell  ;)

Carl (in2bmx) will probably be able to confirm the date  :daumenhoch:

I did wonder that myself Nick but with Mart saying they are original decals  im 99% sure those decals only came out around 86  :-\  If they are earlier ones there no good to me as i really need a set from 86 onwards

I think we need Carl or Darren maybe to shed some light on them .

Are they thinner tubing than normal forks Mart ?

Yes the fork arms are very thin, having looked at them again. The decals are old, which is what I meant, but no idea if they're ORIGINAL original if you know what I mean? Are these Mini-specific and when did they first start making them?

One of the Minis in this team shot (to the right) also has forks with rounded shoulders too... The same?

I think there the earlier 80's types, they did the rounded tops in a slim wall and a thicker tube wall, drop outs look right for early year, decals are wrong though

If your parting with them I am your man mate...

Yeah, I had assumed they wee early 80's from the frame they came on. Not seen them before - are there not many about like these?

It's the strange rake angle that I can't get my head around although I have read they came that way...?

Lol.
Imagine if we all had a pair of them up front?

No racing would get done and we'd all keep bashing into things constantly looking down to watch them jiggle!!
