Hi from yet another mid life crisis lol
« on: October 24, 2014, 03:23 PM »
Hi all old schooler here looking for some advice... 44 years behind me did a silly thing the other day and sold my old BMX regretted it everyday since lol.. back in the day mid eighties was BMX obsessed rode some expensive then, ridiculous priced now ! bikes had the three main bikes a haro freestyler. With tuff twos and haro vtechs a ripper with arayas and a TA and heres the kick in the teeth sold em to chase birds and get pissed got less than 70 each for them Doh!  About five years ago saw a gt vertigo on Ebay for twenty quid an remember gt as a decent brand a buddy had the performer, great bike tad heavy but quality ,well I dont know what happened to gt but the vertigo was 20 quid so what did I expect lol man if they filled the tubes with lead it could nt have been much heavier!!! Still worked for parties and impressing friends teenage kids who couldn't believe the old fat bald guy could do a 360 rock walk hop backs frame whip etc.... anyway sold for 40 lol. Now finally here is what I am after what can I get cheap mid school quality light weight bike and I mean similar to my old Haro weight wise but not more than a hundred and fifty cant spend more than that I already have over a grands worth of specialized mountain bike and a cannondale bad boy.?????? It will probably only get half dozen rides a year I knolw nothing about moden bikes but there mjust be some numpty out there looking the chase women and get drunk who wants out of their old but quality BMX lol... just need to k ow what I should be looking for?

The what's good list is endless... seems like you've got half an idea what's decent after reading your first post.  ;)
If you're looking for something to ride this would make a good starter bike till the building bug kicks in and something more desirable comes along.  :daumenhoch:

Btw no brakeless bikes knocking about here mate. We're all 40 somethings who play with kids bikes but we're not that stupid.  :LolLolLolLol:

Well I got a BMX this afternoon very much new school no brakes mmm.  Gonna be interesting lol lots to learn. I got a mirraco mi6 for 50 quid, until I find something better it will have to do. Still feels heavy but it weighs in at just under 11kg so getting closer to what I am after. I am a BMXer again! brakeless fun tomorrow then order a brake from ebay in tjhe afternoon lol
