I am looking at building a rider and would prefer to put skinny wheels on it, say Ukai - 1 3/8.

Does anybody know the recommended weight limits on these or will they cope with my 14st?

Was assuming they would be OK as road bike wheels have thinner rims but I suppose it goes on spoke count as well.

i've seen 16 stone being ridden around manchester all day.

you just need to be a bit more careful.

if you want a bit of strength, but like narrower wheels, you could go 1.5?

i would think they should be ok as long as there's good tension in the spokes, fiola used to ride with them too.

like jt says though, I'd stick to 1.75 or 1.50, you feel every imperfection on the road, ok to just roll around on but be carefull whacking up kurbs

I bet fiola didn't weigh more than 9st in 1984...

Road bikes seem to cope ok.

Cyclocross even more so....

i think it's a great idea. I was gonna mention eddie filoa riding bowl on them. I forget, the epic one with fullpipe. they ploughed it in about 1990. they look awesome on a fullsize bike. I'm sure there are some nice fast tyres these days, too, like tioga, or primo comets if you wanted slicks.
