Shouldn't be too much of a problem actually. In terms of cost, revamping an existing track will be pennies compared to the construction of a brand new hub.Get some interest brewing (a facebook page is always a winner) and get the name of the council officer looking after the hub project. Go directly to them and put your case forwards. It will make little sense to them to leave an underused facility nearby when they can basically add an additional cycling attraction to the area for little money. After all, it's all just bike riding.Plus, there is a fairly big buzz still surrounding BMX after the Olympics.
Get in touch with phil at dirtworks bmx. He's in the north west, rochdale area.http://www.dirtworksbmx.com/
Yep!Skateparks are cheap. It's the sport itself that's misunderstood and it always brings the NIMBYs out of the woodwork when one is proposed.I have clients that can get £100k funding for a swing & slide set far easier than they can get £1k to repair a ramp.....
