VDC Headset
« on: November 15, 2014, 12:05 PM »

Hi, anyone got any recommendations on VDC headsets?

I know they are different from a standard BMX headset size wise.

Cheers,
Jonny

Voris used road bike head tube diameters so any road headset will fit, the Tange Levin is also a good choice as ia the Campag one but you'd need an early 80s one.  There were also a couple of funky alloy headsets bitd from people like OMAS.

I asked the same question a while ago http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,174314.msg1749968.html#msg1749968

I bought a campagnolo headset for about £40 from ebay. There are always some for sale. Something like this should be suitable

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Campagnolo-Super-Record-vintage-headset-25-4x24F-ISO-for-1-front-fork-BEAUTIFUL-/291292180581?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item43d25df065

From what i've been told, I think 'British' or 'Italian' threads will be ok - I think it's the French one that isn't suitable. There are unbranded cheaper versions available too. Do a search for a Mini or Road headset, and that should bring up some results. Phil (Sawzall) had some headsets to fit a VDC a while ago - might be worth sending him a PM?
