Appologies cos these are stills from my dad's home cine films from Wordsley '83

First straight

Second straight

Finish line  (Mark Whoppa Watkins in Halfords red/black and white)

And saddest of all I took this pic in January of the track, derelict and overgrown but still there

you can see if I highlight the track

Ah I remember it fondly. Mr Matthews barking out gate practice, scream round the first turn and then jump off the second berm. I remember some poor sod going over that second berm in a race and landing on the St John's tent. Poor nurse having a cuppa nearly choked on his Rich Tea.

If you want replica club tee shirts my brother is knocking them out in batches.

What a great track Wordsley was, though it looks a bit short on jumps by todays standards :LolLolLolLol: I dont think i ever made it through all 3 motos without being involved in a huge pile up at the 1st corner :D but i loved it all the same,  never much fun pushing your bike back up the hill though.
West Midlands had some great tracks, Coxmoor and Chemsley Wood for a start.
Me, pro section at Wordsley 83/84

Was the track moved at all. When I raced there in 1990/91 the first corner turned left and then you had to lug it up the hill from way down the hill. Almost opposite to what you have put....

i used to race it mid 80's and the first corner was a right turn almost 180, so it must have been changed if you made a left turn in the 90'S

we used to knock about with mark "whoppa" watkins years ago in his hometown of bridgnorth.

it was amazing as kids to see all the bmx's in his garage.
the team, i think i can remember, even put a quarter pipe up the side of his house

we had a track everyone used to go to and when mark came up we all tried to race him.but not a chance, for a big guy he was bloody quick.
