So, I took the AR off the shelf in the man cave this afternoon. It's been there since Bretty dropped it off a few weeks ago.

It wasn't mint like the boxed one I had, but not fooked in the slightest. It did however bear some storage marks, but for what I got it for (nothing) I was not going to complain.

So I decided to give it a bit of a polish, here's a few before pics...

These are the pics after I spent about an hour polishing it. There's a bit of rust around the brake hole on the forks, and on one if the fork shoulders, but these will be hidden once built.

was it about 6 years ago? (maybe longer) someone on here had a glut of them (20 odd nos f/f sets, maybe more) and they kindly off loaded them at £19 a set, them were the days  :daumenhoch:

I love those fork welds.

A decent British frame set to be fair.  :4_17_5:

Dan the forks were made by Rickman who also made MRD forks....... the story goes that the fellas behind the Aero Reflex took delivery of the framesets off the boat, opened the container and..... no forks, just frames. So a frantic search for a manufacturer found Rickman able to help :daumenhoch:

That is some quality info Spen, nice one.  :4_17_5:

Looking good that Dan. I had a little play with mine yesterday. I'm even more gutted about mine not having the right forks now I know that they were made by Rickman. Where were the frames made if they got them off a boat? I thought they were British made

The decals are on their way from Del, and the stem, headset cups, chain wheel and layback are on their way to Dan's. Tyres have been ordered too.  :daumenhoch:

Fitted the grips, but may need to replace one because I cut the end flange off to fit the grip locks and I had a shit knife, so got a rough cut.

Had some parts back from SBD again today, and he's only gone and done it again - his work is totally flawless.

Of course, I treated myself to 15 minutes tonight J to open the box and unwrap them.

Nout wrong with Aero Reflex framesets  :4_17_5:

Even i have one  :-X Bought it boxed when they were £23 about 6 yrs back. It's all built and living in the loft, i can't even remeber what parts are on it.  :LolLolLolLol: I'll see if i have any photos of it.
One build a year, the only way to get it right. No rushing involved.

No pictures of the bike, my loft is a pig sty, too scared to go up there as it'll either cave in on me or i'll never get out.  >:(

Nothing wrong with a Reflex. It was the bike that got a lot of us back into OS. Looking forward to seeing it done. It's on my list of bikes to do. I quite fancy doing a sticker bomb design using these images:
