Newbie from down south
« on: August 22, 2014, 02:31 PM »
Hi, been in holiday and popped into a bmx shop, got thinking about my old bmx that I used to ride, called up my folks, they still have it, I will have to take a few pic's and post them up. I want to restore it to its former glory. All I know is its a chrome framed kawahara with black wheels. I used to race it at horley, surrey behind the gas works, track back in the 80s. Good to see there is a lot of following for them still. Had lots of fun on my old bmx and many fond memories until early teens. Will get some pics of it and hopefully can gather some Parts to fix her up! Cheers Danny

Right not to sure what I have here so anyone that can help me out, been doing some research to get an idea. Think the spec is as below:

Frame- kawahara laserlite KZ-3? Number on frame T2L3399
Forks- not sure, oval with tange inbosed in end and oval
Bars- not sure
Head set- pro neck II
Crank set- takari CP-Mo 175x24
Rims- araya 7x black
Brakes- dia compe MX-900
Seat post- not sure
Pedals- Santour XC-II
Seat- kashima areo
Sprocket- tug neck USA

Few bits iam unsure about, would like to get it up to its former glory, worth spending money doing this ?

Photos attached

Cheers Danny
