Ive got a sept 2001 Ride mag with a Ron Wilkerson interview in it. You can borrow it next time I'm up and scan it if you want :daumenhoch:

I was at that comp too! Did a 7 week road trip round the USA
Started in Chicago, went to rampage jam with baco 5 premier.  Down to university of Illinois and drank a lot. Rented a car, drove 2 days straight to Sacramento for this 2 hip comp. shared a room with about 15 hbps, the s&m team and grant smith..
Made the mistake of  spending a night at mutts the next night.  Then drove down sf to la, few days in Laguna. Drove non stop to Austin (27 hours, 1300 miles) and spent a few days with sheps etc in the final days of original homeless.. Then a day at Hoffman's ramp room in OK, back up for a few days at the standard house in davenport, topped off with the BS finals in Chicago.  Hell of a trip, just me and my mate Wil Evans and the power of simply being a BMXer. We'd met the Austin crew a year previously and talked to krt Schmidt at king of concrete, but the rest just happened by turning up and having the BMX bond. That shit doesn't happen any more!!
Me and will are on the deck behind Wilkerson's no hander. First comp I judged at!
