Hi new on here and decided to dig my old BMX out, Right not to sure what I have here so anyone that can help me out, been doing some research to get an idea. Think the spec is as below:
Frame- kawahara laserlite KZ-3? Number on frame T2L3399
Forks- not sure, oval with tange inbosed in end and oval
Bars- not sure
Head set- pro neck II
Crank set- takari CP-Mo 175x24
Rims- araya 7x black
Brakes- dia compe MX-900
Seat post- not sure
Pedals- Santour XC-II
Seat- kashima areo
Sprocket- tug neck USA
Few bits iam unsure about, would like to get it up to its former glory, worth spending money doing this ?
Photos attached
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers Danny

Cool bike with some nice parts on it
I think you might be surprised how well that frame will come up , get yourself a big tub and put all the rusty parts , frame, forks, bars etc in an oxalic bath and watch the rust fall off
Give it a polish with 'Peek' and you will have a great survivor frameset , even better that's it's your bike from bitd .
Oh .... and

Cool project.
Check the tech and resto threads for tips and don't be afraid to ask... we've all been there before.

That is SO cool! Love it!
As stated above, check out all the resto threads and take your time choosing what to do, what to replace, etc, etc, especially with such a classic bike! I'm not far off from finishing my Laserlite build as per the link below! Good luck with it all and keep us posted!
Oh, and please, please, please ditch those pegs!

Welcome
You've got a great bike there mate, it will come back to life as good as new with the right and careful restoration.
Research how to do it on here before you start

Not a lot of work needed there, could have that looking great for next to nowt, just a good clean, oh and don't go near it with a brillo or autosol.
I'll add the grips to the list to get rid off with the pegs and seat post.

I forgot to say yes, that's a KZ-3 otherwise known as a KZ-83! The serial number confirms that the frame was made in December 1982, so it was probably first sold in '83. Great bike!
