Picked up a nice survivor today...
« on: July 01, 2014, 07:23 PM »
Picked this up early doors this morning......

Redline RL20 ii Prostyler. Complete survivor from bitd. The bloke I got it from was given this 18 years ago , when he was 12. His dads mate ,who rode for redline ,had this as a team bike and was no longer riding ,so gave it away.
If I'm honest ,I brought it for the cranks to use on something else , however after seeing it in the flesh it seems a shame to break it up. For now , I'm going to strip it, clean and regrease and leave it how it is. How true the story is , I don't know , but either way , whoever had it knew his stuff looking at the parts on it and a nice find none the less :daumenhoch:
Well chuffed ;)

Does anyone know anything about these levers , I've never come across them before?
H

Early MTB levers, we all had them, must have been late 84 to early `85, ours were modified with a push button lock by the local bike shop if I remember it.

Sweet find there Mark!

Very nice indeed!! I'm always amazed (and jealous) at the continuing number of survivor finds on the Museum, so it's good to see one in Blighty too!  :daumenhoch:
