Wheel building dilema

Hey guys please help me I am trying to build a set of ukai speedlines with suntour large flange hubs I am having a mare I have tryed 184mm spokes and niw I have tryed 186mm spokes and the first go in both sides purfect then I start to put cross spokes in and get half way round the rim when disater strikes and the spokes dont then reach the hole they are sposed to be in and the hub seems to twist of centre I cannot work thos our what am I doing wrong  one very annoyed nitrohopper thanks for looking

Not sure what your doing wrong Lee but 184mm 3 cross lace is right for the hubs and rims you have  ;)
WANTED : Old school BMX patches/sew on badges ......  please  :)

I have taken it all apart again mate I got to the end of my tether so thought it best I put them down its strange it have built 4 or 5 sets of whčels and never had this problem
build what u want if u like it then thats all that matters

probably got one or two of the leading (first) spokes in the wrong hole/holes at the rim end, usually just one , this will twist the hub sideways when the trailing (second) spokes are put in but only when you get so far round ?

How do I identify the right first spoke hole on hub ??

When i first started Lee i used this guide http://sheldonbrown.com/wheelbuild.html  or use Stidd's guide in the tech and resto section http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,1344.0.html :daumenhoch:

The good thing is you have the correct size spokes 184mm for a 3 cross lace on large flange hubs to Ukai speedlines . Follow the guide and it will work  ;)
