Can you powder coat chrome? If not how much would it cost to have the chrome removed from a frame and forks?? Rough ball park figure?

I believe you can powdercoat chrome but it needs to be in decent condition. If not stripping a f&f costs about £40 ish.

Powder over chrome looks awesome especially if you go for a candy colour
As said though, the chrome needs to be okay and no flaking or pitting.

I've just had the chrome stripped on my '85 GT, it was flaking badly, and Dan advised me to do it and I'm so glad he did. See my build thread in Tech & Resto.

For some unknown reason I powdered an NOS reflex burner blue many moons ago.
It worked a treat

Nice one chaps. The chrome in question is in pretty good nick except for some slight flaking on the bottom of the top tube in the middle. I'm thinking that would leave an indentation after powdering?

i think it might mean the powder might chip/flake off as the base surface isn't stable enough?
