1985 GT Pro - Which Decals? **VOTES PLEASE**
« on: June 07, 2014, 05:42 PM »
Right, quandary time.  ::)

As some of you know, I'm building a GT Pro that SBD has finished in luscious gloss black.  :smitten:

So, I'm gonna need some decals on the next few weeks, but I'm undecided what to opt for, so I thought I'd let you guys choose for me.

I'm torn in a 50/50 split between:

Choice A - clear backed decals, in the style of Jazzchimp's GT*

Or

Choice B - chrome backed decals, in the style of Mr Parrish's GT*

Both equally stunning builds IMO, but it will be nice for you RADsters to choose for me.

Vote's open for 4 days.  :daumenhoch:

*hope Jazzchimp and AP don't mind me using their photo's.

I enjoy both immensely but give a slight edge to 'clear' backed. Most folk opt for the chrome variant too, which is another reason why *I* would ppt for them shits.

Clear, chrome looks like you couldn't be arsed to find clear. Looks crisper too.

I know the early models came with chrome backed but this isn't an early model. And as Dan always puts a little bit of a personal touch to his builds I think clear would be better.

Parrish is gonna so hate me!

Late 84 Pros had clear as standard.

They maybe printed on black I suppose, I'll ask Del nearer the time what he's got.  :daumenhoch:

What colour parts are you using.

Love them Pro's in Black.

Where possible, chrome or polished.  :daumenhoch:

I'd go for chrome background myself Dan. The  badge/logo seems a little more defined imo.  :daumenhoch:
And jazzychimps fork sticker is on pissed.  :crazy2:

Why not pick something a bit different Dan?

Say, shiney blue instead of chrome backed if Del can do that?

I would have to go with whatever came as standard on that model/age.  :coolsmiley:

Poll closed, I've been in contact with Del, and selected the decals that I feel will stand out more on the black gloss.  :coolsmiley:

Both stunners, but Nick, I went with chrome as its the look I like and I wanted a more custom look to the bike.  :daumenhoch:

I think the chrome ones suit the older shape frame, since they came that way on them BITD. :daumenhoch:
Mine too is OG and is a late 84, the first of the slanted stamped model. They same with the clear winged decal before they updated to the Pro Series ones in the iconic font.

that really is lovely Chris :smitten: :smitten:

Cheers Chris, I know the real GT purists will not like it, but I'm not that anal about builds. The font will match that of the padset too.  :daumenhoch:
