That's a good price Gaz - Metal Magic charge me £20-25 a pair depending on how bad they are but they come out absolutely brand new every time. Done a few sets for lads on here :coolsmiley:

Martin at VBS just did a set of Tuffs for me too.  Cant really complain for 15 quid.  They are way better then before being blasted.  I don't think there is too much that can be done about fading or yellowing as only a tiny layer is blasted away.  This of course keeps the finish smooth.  The blasting gives you a good base for dying or bleaching.  My tuffs being lavender don't make dying an easy option.  But they are now good enough to go on a show bike, maintaining the wheels originality :)

Is the resultant finish just as smooth as the original? i always thought it ended up a bit rough?

It's a tiny bit rough, but a good wd40 soaking, makes it ok...I think skyways dry out over time anyway and you will never get a silky smooth finish like a brand new pair.  I guess there are a number of ways to get a good finish back on plastic wheels.  Probably comes down to how patient you are, access to finishing services and what your personal preference is.  I spoke to a soda blasting guy, who said you get a cleaner wheel, but would be a lot rougher than aqua blasting.

Look forward to the results...I have a white, well.....beige pair of ally hubbed tuffs too. I am a bit reluctant to have them done as I am not sure of the results....would rather keep them beige and unmolested rather than getting them back a bit lighter but rough in finish.
